Lawrence of Arabia Camel Trek in Oman

Partake in this once-in-a-lifetime desert caravanning experience and traverse the Sands in the Rub' al Khali on camel back. Stay at an authentic Bedouin camp and be serenaded at night to traditional Omani music. Riding a camel is tough work the first time around but you will have a chance to relax your sore limbs in the crystal pools at Wadi Bani Khalid the following day.We have finally put together a camel caravaning expedition, this is as authentic as it gets. You ride for a full day, starting at the 1001 Nights Camp, located deep in the dunes of the Wahiba Sands, Oman. The Wahiba sands is a totally different experience than UAE. We will be briefed on how to ride safely and comfortably for the day by our Camel "Cowboys" and then embark on our journey traversing the desert until we reach the Bedouin Camp. Eat and sleep like the Bedouins did, and stargaze under clear night skies deep in the Wahiba Sands.

Fly to Muscat, on late thursday night flight overnight in Muscat in hotel.

Friday am; 7:00 am

Drive to Bidya and the Bedouin camp, which is our starting point for the camel caravan. We will be briefed on how to safely and comfortably ride them, then we set off westward into the desert. Our things need to be packed up prior as they will be transported (by car) to our Bedouin camp that we will reach late in the afternoon. We will ride for about 3-hours then stop for a break late morning at a 'rest camp' to take shelter from the midday sun before we press on in the late afternoon to reach our final destination camp. You will need your backpack (full of water and snacks) and sun protection before you head out yonder. We will have our dinner made by our Bedouin friends, and spend the night in an authentic tented-style camp. If we have any energy left, we will do a late night dune bashing session.

Saturday: Sunrise Early morning Desert Walk. If you are here, you just have to experience. You can sleep when you are back in the UAE! We will be picked up by Land Cruisers and taken back to the Areesh Camp for freshening up, before heading to Wadi Bani Khalid for the day. This is one of the most famous Wadis in Oman and the water should be nice and high, giving us the chance to spend the day here frolicking throughout the wadi. We will need to pack up around 2 pm (there are shower facilities there) and head back to Muscat. We will stop in the Souk for some quick shopping then on to the airport by 6 pm for a 7:30 pm flight back to Dubai
